Nevil Shute

Byl populární britský romanopisec a úspěšný letecký inženýr.Používal pseudonym Nevil Shute,aby ochránil svou kariéru inženýra v případě negativní publicity v souvislosti s jeho romány.V letech 1950 až 1960 byl jedním ze světově nejprodávanějších romanopisců.V letech 1956 a 1958 v Austrálii začal jako koníčka jezdit závody automobilů.Některé z těchto zkušeností popsal i ve svých knihách. Shute zemřel v Melbourne v roce 1960 po cévní mozkové příhodě.
