Loughton Stairs joins the Navy to see the world. While he's away, his girlfriend Lisa ends up with his brother Demain instead, an easygoing gourmet more interested in family than adventure. Darren Baker

narodil se v kalifornském San Diegu a sloužil v námořnictvu na ponorce.. Vystudoval klasické a moderní jazyky na univerzitě v Storrsu.Cestoval po Evropě a ve třiceti zavítal i do České republiky, v níž se usadil. Zpočátku psal básně, nyní se zaměřuje na romány a divadelní hry. * Darren Baker je původem z Kalifornie, ale od roku 1992 žije na Moravě, nepříliš daleko od rodného domu Sigmunda Freuda . Darren je autorem Trapasů, humorných fejetonů pohlížejících na život v České republice očima cizince. Trapasy původně vycházely jednou týdně jako novinový sloupek v ostravské Nové Svobodě. Od dubna 2000 do listopadu 2003 psal Darren krátké články zvané Aktuality, v nichž shrnoval dění v České republice v uplynulém měsíci. Darren v současnosti pracuje na publikaci série jazykových knih a audio CD s názvem Zábavná výuka angličtiny. První kniha je určena zejména dětem a obsahuje pět klasických pohádek, které si děti mohou nejen přečíst v obou jazycích, ale také poslechnout v angličtině na přiloženém CD.
