RAI was formed at the end of the war to replace E.I.A.R. Four orchestras were established, with the others in Turin , Rome , and, later, Naples . EIAR, Italy's newly-born public radio authority, had founded its first symphony orchestra in Turin in 1931.
In 1994, the four orchestras were merged in Turin, under the name of the Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale Della RAI
