Eric Carle

Eric Carle je uznávaným tvůrcem literatury pro malé děti. Jeho nejznámějši dílo Velmi hladová housenka si \"prokousala\" cestu do srdci milionů dětí po celém světě a byla přeložena do více než 47 jazyků a prodalo se jí přes 39 milionů kopií. Narozen v Syracusu, ve státě New York. Eric Carle se přestěhoval se svými rodiči do Německa, když mu bylo 6 let. Vystudoval tam prestižní uměleckou školu ve Stuttgartu, ale vždycky snil o návratu do Ameriky. R. 1952 se svým portfoliem a 40 dolary v kapse se vydal do New Yorku. Brzy si našel místo jako grafik v New York Times. Později se stal na dlouhou dobu uměleckým ředitelem jedné reklamní agentury.
