Claire Keegan

Claire Keeganová vyrostla na farmě v jihovýchodním Irsku jako nejmladší ze šesti dětí v katolické rodině. V sedmnácti letech odešla do USA, kde v New Orleans vystudovala anglistiku a politologii. Literatuře se začala věnovat po návratu do Irska v polovině devadesátých let. Její první kniha povídek Antarktida se stala okamžitou čtenářskou senzací a získala několik prestižních literárních cen v Evropě i v USA. Modrá pole získala kromě mnoha dalších ocenění také Edge Hill Prize za nejlepší sbírku povídek na britských ostrovech. Autorka žije na irském venkově a byla nedávno poctěna členstvím ve sdružení významných irských umělců Aosdana. Její povídky byly dosud přeloženy do němčiny, španělštiny, italštiny, slovinštiny a japonštiny.
