Ben Aaronovitch je britský spisovatel narozený v roce 1964 v Londýně. Vystudoval střední školu v Holowayi. Napsal 2 řady pro televizní seriál BBC Doctor Who – Pán času, jednu epizodu do seriálu Casualty a autorsky se podílel na sci-fi seriálu Jupiter Moon. K psaní knih se dostal tím, že na motivy epizod ze seriálu Pán času napsal novely a potom se již věnoval sérii Peter Grant, jejíž první částí je kniha Řeky Londýna.
