Americký filosof a ekolog David Abram patří k nejinspirativnějším současným ekologickým myslitelům. Filosof, ekolog, pouliční kouzelník a vypravěč David Abram je jedním z nejinspirativnějších ekologických myslitelů současnosti. Jeho přednášky, eseje a publikace mají rostoucí vliv na environmentální hnutí nejen v Severní Americe, ale i v dalších zemích světa. Absolvoval Wesleyan University v Connecticutu, obdržel doktorát z filosofie na State University of New York ve Stony Brook a postgraduální stipendium Watsonovy a Rockefellerovy nadace. Za svoji knihu The Spell of the Sensuous - Perception and Language in a More-Than-Human World , která je považovaná za přelomové dílo současné ekologické filosofie a etiky, obdržel Lannanovu cenu za naučnou literaturu. David Abram uspořádal řadu seminářů na univerzitách v USA i v Evropě , zatímco si podržel nezávislost na akademickém světě. Spolupracoval například s geochemikem Jamesem Lovelockem a bioložkou Lynn Margullisovou, tvůrci hypotézy Gaia, s radikálním společenským kritikem Ivanem Illichem či s ekologem Paulem Shepardem; vliv na něj měl také jungiánský psycholog James Hillman.
