      Emily St. John Mandelová se narodila roku 1979 na západním pobřeží Kanady. Na torontské taneční akademii vystudovala moderní tanec a poté žila krátce v Montrealu, než se přestěhovala do New Yorku. Napsala čtyři romány. Ten zatím poslední, Stanice 11, získal v r. 2015 Cenu Arthura C. Clarka za nejlepší sci-fi a dostal se do užšího výběru americké Národní knižní ceny a PEN/Faulknerovy ceny. Emily St. John Mandelová je kmenovou autorkou internetového literárního časopisu The Millions. Žije s manželem v New Yorku.
