Born: September 20, 1926, Vulcan, Romania Died: November 17, 2012, Budakalász, Hungary Hungarian performer, folk singer, actress. She studied acting at the Béla Józsa Athenaeum in Cluj. From 1946 to 1948 she acted at a private theater in Aiud. In 1946 she joined the State Theater of Oradea and acted there until 1961. In this year she migrated to Hungary. she lived in Budapest and not only sang but collected Hungarian gypsy songs, even translated certain ones into Hungarian. Her husband, Grabócz Miklós, musicologist, composer, also plays important role in collecting and arranging folk music.
