      Susan Hill

      Britská autorka se narodila roku 1942 ve Scarboeough v Yorkshiru. Od roku 1963 se věnuje vlastní tvorbě, kromě příspěvků do novin a časopisů napsala přes třicet titulů – románů pro dospělé, knížek pro děti, povídek. Pro Daily Telegrph psala pravidelný sloupek, zajímá se o divadlo. Napsala hru pro děti a několik rozhlasových her pro dospělé. Divadelní adaptace jejího pozoruhodného románu „Žena v černém“ se hrála několik let ve West Endu. Susan Hillová založila nakladatelství Long Barn Books, řídí literární časopis a podíl na obchodě s dárkovými předměty. S manželem a dvěma dcerami žije ve venkovském sídle v Gloucestershire.
