Elizabeth Hand

Elizabeth Hand vystudovala drama a antropologii na Catholic University of America . Sedm let pracovala pro Smithsonian Institution's National Air & Space Museum, následovala další netypická povolání, až se roku 1988 odstěhovala z Washingtonu DC a nyní žije na pobřeží v Maine, místě, kde se odehrává většina jejích příběhů. Právě roku 1988 jí vyšla tiskem první povídka, a její první román, „Winterlong“, vyšel o dva roky později. Spolu s Paulem Witcoverem v devadesátých letech vytvořili a sepsali kultovní post-punkový komiksový seriál „Anima“. Je autorkou zatím 11 románů a tří povídkových sbírek a rovněž nositelkou mnoha různých ocenění. Jmenujme alespoň James Tiptree Jr. Award, Mythopoeic Society Award , New York Times Notable Book , Washington Post Notable Book , Nebula , World Fantasy Award, International Horror Guild Award aj. Handová se věnuje rovněž psaní esejů, recenzí, divadelních her, televizních a filmových adaptací a blogování.
